Interview with RBI Officer – Armaan Garg

Introduction

In our interview series, we have now interviewed Mr Armaan Garg, who is working as Grade B Officer. He will share you insights on this journey of cracking RBI Grade B exams, his preparation and life at RBI.

Q: Tell us something about yourself?

A: I am Arman Garg, B Tech from NIT Kurukshetra, and currently working as RBI Grade B Manager.

Q: When and how did you join RBI?

A: 3-Jul-17

Q: How did you prepare for RBI recruitment exam?

A: Didn’t specifically prepare for the exam. I mostly did self-preparation for RBI Grade B. I was also preparing for other exams, which helped me a lot.

Q: How was RBI interview experience?

A: Good though interview could have more focus on HR aspects

Q: How is induction program for new recruits at RBI?

A: Above average

Q: How is your experience in RBI so far?

A: Good

Q: How do you compare RBI job with other career in private and government sector?

A: Compare to private sector- quality of work is good plus less work pressure.
Compare to govt sector- less discretionary decision making power

Q: What is your one piece of advice to people seeking career in RBI?

A: RBI performs different roles in the economy and your job would be dependent on which type of department one would be placed in. It could be policy making, supervision, research or operational.

 

Conclusion

Getting into RBI is tough, but as the saying goes, there is nothing impossible for one who tries.
