1.   To withdraw from International Criminal Court: Philippines.
A.    From the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Philippines said it will withdraw a month after the judicial body started an inquiry into President Rodrigo Duterte’s controversial war on drugs.
B.    It would withdraw from the treaty, that established the court, notice had given by the country.
C.    Encouraging extrajudicial killings has been accused of Duterte and other rights abuses in his bid to rid the country of drugs since his election in 2016.

  

2.   5th ‘Nadi Mahotsava’ in Hoshangabad inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari.
A.    Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has inaugurated the 5th ‘Nadi Mahotsava’ in Hoshangabad District of Madhya Pradesh.
B.    The minister said addressing the gathering, that the pioneering event like ‘Nadi Mahotsava’ will not only revive rivers, but also improve the condition of people living on their banks.
C.    Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also addressed the ‘Nadi Mahotsava’.

3.   In Maharashtra from March 18 Plastic will Banned.
A.    To impose a ban on certain plastic items decided by the Maharashtra cabinet from the Marathi New Year, ‘Gudhi Padwa’, on March 18.
B.    The ban will cover plastic carry bags, thermocol and plastic plates, cups, forks, bowls and spoons said by the an official in the state environment department.
C.    To discuss the ban on rest of the plastic goods, the official said, an empowered committee under the Environment Minister Ramdas Kadam has been formed.
4.   Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship to be inaugurated by President of India.
A.    A Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) and present Gandhian Young Technological Innovation awards will be inaugurated by the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
B.    It is instituted by Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions [SRISTI].
C.    It is inaugurated at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 19, 2018.
D.    FINE is being organised by Rashtrapati Bhavan in association with the Department of Science and Technology.
E.     A platform for innovators for building linkages with potential stakeholders whose support can improve their prospects in coming years to develop their ideas into implementable projects for the larger social good will be provided by FINE.

  

5.   On Disaster Risk Reduction first India-Japan Workshop to begin on 19th March.

A.    Two of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, India and Japan, are coming together to address disaster risk.
B.    Experts will discuss issues pertaining to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), especially earthquakes over a two-day workshop beginning in New Delhi on 19th March.
C.    Along the Pacific Ring of Fire Japan is situated and is highly susceptible to earthquakes.
D.    Especially in the area of earthquake risk reduction, its technological know-how, is among the most advanced in the world.

A.    A special facility to its ATM card holders is given by State Bank of India. With this, customers can keep their ATM cards under control.
B.    It has special features for controlling special ATM cards.
C.    Facility of blocking, turning on or off ATM cards and generating an ATM PIN will be provided by this app.

7.   As China’s president Xi Jinping re-elected.

A.    As the country’s president China’s parliament, on March 17, unanimously re-elected Xi Jinping.
B.    To amend the constitution to remove presidential term limits, meaning Xi can stay indefinitely on March 11, parliament voted.
C.    A key ally of President Xi Jinping, former top graft-buster Wang Qishan, was also chosen as vice president.

 

8.   ‘Karma Yatri’ named biography launched by Anandiben Patel.
A.    Anandiben Patel, former Gujarat Chief minister has launched her biography “Karma Yatri”, written by Ameya Latkar in the presence of BJP chief Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
B.    Modi as the Gujarat Chief Minister after the latter became the prime minister in May 2014 had replaced by Patel.
C.    In August 2016, She stepped down as Gujarat Chief Minister.
D.    As the Governor of Madhya Pradesh she is presently serving.
