1.   International Competition Network Annual Conference to be hosted by India for the first time.
A.    From 21st to 23rd March 2018 in New Delhi India to host 17th Annual Conference of International Competition Network 2018 (ICN2018).
B.   Devender Singh Sikri, Competition Commission of India’s Chairperson said that this is the first time India is hosting the ICN2018 Annual Conference since it joined International Competition Network (ICN) in 2009.
C.    The ICN is an informal network comprising 138 competition authorities from 125 jurisdictions said by the CCI Chairperson Shri Sikri.

  

2.   Network 18 organised Rising India Summit and addressed by PM.
A.    In terms of a nation,when we speak of a rise it has a very broad context said by him.
B.    He feels that Rising India implies the rise of self-respect among the people of India, beyond the rise of the economy.

 

3.   SATH-E Roadmaps to be released by NITI Aayog.
A.    System-wide Governance Transformation in School Education to be introduced by SATH-E.
B.    Comprehensive roadmaps and detailed timelines for its initiative ‘Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital in Education (SATH-E)’ project will released by NITI Aayog at NITI Aayog on March 17.
C.    The forward looking blueprints will released by Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog and the Chief Secretaries of the States of Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.

  

4.   Under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana more than 17 lakh beneficiaries enrolled.

A.    17,66,423 beneficiaries enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Matru VandanaYojana (PMMVY).
B.    Around 50, 000 new applications are received for enrolment every day on an average.
C.    Rs. 2048.21 Crores to all 36 States/UTs have been sanctioned so far under PMMVY out of which Rs. 2042.09 Crores have been released till date.
D.    Pan-India implementation of PMMVY in all districts of the country from 01.01.2017 has approved by the Government of India.
E.    The eligible beneficiaries get Rs. 5,000/- under PMMVY and the remaining cash incentive as per approved norms towards Maternity Benefit under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) after institutional delivery so that on an average, a woman gets Rs. 6000/-. 

  

5.   $120 Million Loan to Improve Rail Infrastructure Signed by INDIA and ADB.
A.    It is signed for completion of works for double-tracking and electrification of railways tracks along high-density corridors to improve operational efficiency of Indian railways.
B.    The tranche 3 loan is part of the $500 million multi-tranche financing facility for Railway Sector Investment Program approved by the ADB Board in 2011.
C.    To complete the ongoing works commenced under earlier tranches, the loan amount will be used.

 

6.   Chandrasekaran elected IISc President headed by Tata Sons.
A.    As president of the court of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for three years Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran was elected.
B.    As the 8th President of the institute for the period 2018-21 Chandrasekaran has been elected and takes over from K. Kasturirangan.
C.    Among those who occupied the distinguished post of the 109-year-old institute in the past there is Sir M. VisvesvarayaJ.R.D. Tata and Ratan Tata.

 

7.   Ambassador of India to Belarus: Sangeeta Bahadur.
A.    As the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus,Ms. Sangeeta Bahadur (IFS:1987) has been appointed.
B.    To take up her assignment shortly she is expected.
C.    Currently, she is Additonal Secretary in Ministry of External Affairs.

  

8.   Cricketer of the Year: Rahul.

A.    In the sixth edition of Wisden India Almanack KL Rahul is the ‘Cricketer of the Year’ which has just been released.
B.    It pays a tribute to India’s women cricketers, with a wonderful cover picture of celebration at the World Cup.
C.    India’s first woman superstar, Shantha Rangaswamy, has been inducted into the Wisden India Hall of Fame alongside Erapalli Prasanna.

 

9.   ‘A Tribute to Jagu’ book released by Sri Lanka Cricket.
A.     On the occasion of the 70th independence of the island nation Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), paid a glowing tribute to former BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya by releasing a book, titled A Tribute to Jagu.
B.    In strengthening the Asian Bloc SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala lauded Dalmiya’s role.
C.    Avishek, Dalmiya’s son, joint secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) was invited to receive the commemorative book.

 

10.  With RIMES for disaster management Odisha Government to collaborate.
A.    With Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System (RIMES) the Odisha government will collaborate.
B.    It will be collaborated for strengthening its early warning services and enhancing preparedness for management of hazards in state.
C.    Between Odisha State Disaster Mitigation Authority (OSDMA) and RIMES in field of drought monitoring and early warning for different natural disasters the partnership will be forged.
D.    RIMES is already working with the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority.

  

11.  8th Theatre Olympics to be witnesses by Jaipur.

A.    8th Theatre Olympics will be co-hosted by Jaipur.
B.    The largest international theatre festival being held for the first time in India.
C.    National School of Drama (NSD) under the aegis of Ministry of Culture the Jaipur chapter of Theatre Olympics 2018.
