NANABARD ExamBARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ) is an apex development financial institution, focussed on upliftment of agriculture and other economic activities in rural India, by proper planning, policy making and providing credit for development activities. NABARD is India’s specialised bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. NABARD came into existence on 12 July 1982 by transferring the agricultural credit functions of RBI and refinance functions of the then Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation (ARDC). NABARD has financed one-fifth of India’s total rural infrastructure project so far. Some of the major initiatives taken by NABARD are Self Help Group(SHG) Bank Linkage Project (world’s largest microfinance project) , Kisan Credit Card and watershed development.

Candidates can be posted at main headquarter (at Mumbai) or regional offices (state capitals) or district development office (district headquarter). Once you clear your Nabard recruitment exam, there is a mandatory training period during which you are explained your job role and responsibilities. During initial stages, Candidates will be posted at NABARD’s Head Office/Regional Office for which they have applied. However, they are liable to transfer anywhere in India after they serve for a stipulated time period.

Key responsibilities handled by NABARD officers

  • Managing relationships with current and prospective donors of the bank organisation.
  • Dealing with policy issues of various programmes of Central/State Govt. and projects relating to Agriculture as well as Rural Development.
  • Bolstering membership and researching ways to bring in additional funds.
  • Updating donor databases, responding to member queries and sometimes approaching benefactors for appeals.
  • Conducting research, analyzing data and compiling reports on current or prospective donors.

Salary at NABARD

Salary of Assitant Manager (Grade A)

Basic pay: Rs.28150/- p.m. in the scale of 28150-1550(4) -34350-1750(7) – 46600 –EB – 1750(4)- 53600-2000(1)-55600

Eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules.

Monthy gross salary will be 55.5 k .

Monthly Perks and Allowances would be around 17k.

Total monthly salary– 72.5k

Total CTC of Grade A officer: 14.5 lacs

NABARD Grade B (Manager) Salary

Basic pay: Rs. 35150/- p.m. in the scale of Rs.35150 – 1750 (9) – 50900 – EB – 1750(2) – 54400 – 2000 (4) – 62400 (16 years)

Eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules.

Gross monthly salary: 66.8k

Monthly Perks and Allowances: would be around 17k.

Total monthly salary– 83.8k

Total CTC of Grade B  officer: 16 lacs
