1.  A report says on global city wealth index,Mumbai gets 47th spot.
A.    In a city wealth index report, an independent global property consultancy ranked India’s financial capital Mumbai at 47th spot out of 314 cities across the globe.
B.   The ‘city wealth index’ takes into consideration four major indicators for ranking – Wealth, investments, lifestyle and future, as per the Knight Frank’s Wealth Report 2018.
C.   Mumbai has been ranked at 16th position, in terms of the top 20 costliest global cities.

 

2.   In Mastercard women entrepreneurs index India ranks 52.

Master Card

A.    Among 57 countries India ranked 52 studied for the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE), showed the findings of its second edition.
B.    From the previous year, the latest ranking for India remains unchanged.
C.    On female entrepreneurs, the MIWE focuses.
D.    Ability to capitalise on opportunities granted through various supporting conditions within their local environments.
 

3.   For Nepal quake reconstruction, India to give UN $15.82m.

A.    In assistance to quake-ravaged Nepal for its massive reconstruction programme, India has pledged 15.82 million dollars.
B.    With the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), India signed an agreement in this regard.
C.    They signed an agreement to build 50000 homes for the quake victims.
D.    The Indian Government will give 7.41 Million US dollar to the UNDP and 8.41 million US dollars to the UNOPS as per the agreement.
 

4.   National Nutrition Mission launched by PM.

A.    Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the National Nutrition Mission, and expansion of the coverage of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme.
B.    It was launched on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan.
C.    With the beneficiary mothers and girl children of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme he has interacted.
D.    Best performing districts under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme has been awarded certificates by the Prime Minister.
 

5.   Launch of ‘SUVIDHA’ announced by Government.

A.     Shri Ananth Kumar, Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, announced the launch of ‘Suvidha’.
B.    Suvidha (the 100% Oxo-biodegradable Sanitary Napkin), announced under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
C.    In this scheme the sanitary napkin will be available for Rs. 2.50 per pad at over 3200 Janaushadhi Kendras across India.
D.    It would ensure ‘Swachhta, Swasthya and Suvidha’for the underprivileged Women of India.
E.   Department of Pharmaceuticals has taken this step.
F.     It will ensure the achievement of Prime Minster Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Affordable and Quality Healthcare for all.
 

6.   For Women Entrepreneurs Udyam Sakhi Portal has launched.

A.    The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) launched a portal for women entrepreneurs of India: www.udyamsakhi.org.
B.    It has launched on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8.
C.    Minister of State (Independent Charge) of MSME, Giriraj Singh, in a program unveiled the portal.
D.    India has around 8 million women who have started and are running their own businesses said Minister.
E.    The women in India can play a vital role in the growth of the Indian economy believed by the Ministry of MSME. 
 

7.   Rs 40 lakh penalty on SBI

SBI

A.    A penalty of Rs 40 lakh has slapped by RBI on SBI.
B.    This penalty is for not complying with its directions on detection and impounding of counterfeit notes.
C.    In regulatory compliance with counterfeit notes regulations, it found deficiencies on SBI’s part said RBI.
D.    Inspection of currency chests of two branches of the country’s largest lender had carried out by the regulator.
E.    In inspection it noticed violation of its instructions issued on the detection and impounding of counterfeit notes. 
 

8.   Fastest growing IT services brand in 2018 – TCS.

A.    In an assessment done by leading brand valuation firm, Brand Finance, Tata Consultancy Services was named as the fastest growing IT services brand in the world.
B.    TCS now has a total brand value of USD 10.391 billion; a growth of 14.4 percent from last year, according to Brand Finance IT Services 15 annual reports for 2018.

 

9.   P K Sinha launched I-Metros.
A.    An association of all Indian Metro Rail companies for mutual sharing of ideas & experiences, I-Metros has launched by the Union Housing Ministry.
B.   P K Sinha, Cabinet Secretary launched It.
C.    It was launched at Conference on “Indian Metros: Collaborating for Excellence” held at Metro Bhawan in New Delhi. 
 

10.   Nari Shakti Puraskars 2017 on occasion of International Women’s Day.

A.   Nari Shakti Puraskars 2017 to 30 eminent individuals and 9 distinguished institutions at special ceremony was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind.
B.    It was presented at special ceremony held in Rashtrapati Bhavan on occasion of International Women’s Day.
C.    It aims to acknowledge achievement of women by bestowing awards on eminent women and institutions in recognition of their service towards the cause of women empowerment.
