1.   Changi: ‘World’s best airport’, Mumbai ranked 63rd.

Changi Airport

A.    In the list of ‘world’s best airport’ Singapore’s Changi Airport has topped for the sixth consecutive year.
B.    At the Skytrax World Airport Awards the announcement was made in Stockholm.
C.    The top five in the list respectively are South Korea’s Incheon Airport, Tokyo Haneda in Japan, Hong Kong and Doha Hamad.
D.    63rd position has been given to Mumbai airport whereas the airports in Bangalore and Delhi are at 64th and 66th place respectively.
2.   Kerala’s official fruit Jackfruit has been declared.
A.    Jackfruit as its official fruit has declared by the Kerala government.
B.    Agriculture minister V.S. Sunil Kumar officially announced in this regard in the state assembly.
C.    To promote ‘Kerala jackfruit’ as a brand in markets across the country and abroad, showcasing its organic and nutritious qualities is the aim of it.
3.   First National Conference on Drug Law Enforcement is to inaugurated by Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.
A.    The two-day first National Conference on Drug Law Enforcement will be inaugurated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in New Delhi.
B.    Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ministry of Home Affairs is being organsied the conference.
C.    Chief Guest at the closing session on 24th March will be the Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh.

  

4.   65,180 biogas plants in current year to be set up by MNRE.

Government of India

A.     At setting up of family type biogas plants for providing biogas as clean cooking fuel and a source of lighting is the aim of the National Biogas and Manure Management Programme (NBMMP).
B.    An annual physical target of setting up 65,180 biogas plants for the current year 2017-18 under the NBMMP has fixed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

5.   In Silk Production by 2020 India to be Self-Reliant.
A.    Minister of Textiles Smriti Zubin Irani in a media interaction said India will be self-reliant in the production of silk by 2020.
B.    It will help increase the production of Bivoltine silk (high quality) by 62 percent by 2020.
C.    To increase the number of people engaged in the silk sector from 85 lakhs to one crore in the next three years is the aim of the government.
6.   For development under Iconic Tourist Sites Project 12 sites are identified.
A.    Following 12 sites for development under Iconic Tourist Sites Project has identified by the Ministry of Tourism:

7.   As most Informative at 105th Indian Science Congress Adjudged Drdo Pavilion.
A.    The ‘Most Informative Pavilion’ Award in Pride of India Expo has received by Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO).
B.    Organized as part of the 105th Indian Science Congress held from 16 to 20 March 2018 at Manipur University, Imphal it received the award.
C.    This annual mega event had inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 16 March 2018.
D.    With over 150 exhibits and models from 18 DRDO laboratories it participated in the expo showcasing cutting-edge indigenous defence technologies.
8.   Certificate of Appreciation awarded to NMCG.

Clean Ganga

A.    Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has stressed upon the efficient use of finite water resources in the country.
B.    The Minister said it is central to all questions of life emphasizing upon the importance of water in every walk of life.
C.    While giving away the Certificate of Appreciation for ‘Encouragement and Appreciation of the Efforts in Ganga Rejuvenation” to the National Mission for Clean Ganga during the Water Digest Water Awards 2017-18 the Minister was addressing the gathering.
D.    IJ Global Awards 2017 Asia-Pacific Water Deal of the Year: Clean Ganga Varanasi Wastewater Project was also awarded to National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).

  

9.   Top US award has won by we Are Sikhs’ campaign.
A.    To create awareness of Sikhism and its followers in the US and fight prejudice, a campaign has won a top award for excellence in public relations programming to promote public causes.
B.    The top 2018 PRWeek US award in the category of Public Cause received by the “We Are Sikhs” campaign.
C.    The PRWeek US awards are nicknamed the “Oscars of the Public Relations Industry”.

  

10.  With indigenous seeker BrahMos missile successfully test-fired for the first time.
A.    For first time supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was successfully flight-tested with indigenously developed seeker at Pokhran test range, Rajasthan.
B.    So far, seeker, a critical technology in missiles was imported from Russia. 
C.    During the test missile with India-made seeker flew in its designated trajectory and target with pin-point accuracy.
11.  World’s first brass future contracts launched by MCX.
A.    World’s first brass futures contracts launched by India’s largest commodities exchange platform, Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX)
B.    Brass stakeholders to hedge their price risk will be facilitated by it.
C.    MCX Brass futures will be the first non-ferrous contract with compulsory delivery option.
D.    As per rate at ex-warehouse Jamnagar (delivery centre) inclusive of taxes and duties its price will be quoted.
12.  India’s first 3000 words dictionary of sign language has been launched.
A.    India’s first Sign Language Dictionary of 3000 words has launched by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
B.    Indian Sign Language Research & Training Centre (ISLR&TC) under Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) has developed the dictionary.
C.    This dictionary is available in both print and video formats.
13.  IAE: Global carbon emissions hit record high in 2017.
A.    The global energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions rose to historic high of 32.5 gigatonnes in 2017 according to International Energy Agency (IEA).
B.    It was due to higher energy demand and slowing of energy efficiency improvements.
C.    This large amount of global energy-related carbon emissions comes after it was flat for three years.
