NEET UG 2025 Counselling Schedule Announced: All You Need to Know

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially released the NEET UG 2025 counselling schedule, bringing clarity and direction to lakhs of aspiring medical students across India. As per the notification, the registration process for Round 1 of NEET UG counselling will begin on July 21, 2025, through the official MCC website.

Candidates must complete their registration between July 21 and July 28 (up to 12 noon). It is crucial for applicants to adhere strictly to the timeline, as no extensions will be provided. The window for fee payment will also remain open during this period, with the last time to pay being 3:00 PM on July 28.

Following registration, applicants can begin filling their choices from July 22 to July 28. A final window to lock choices will be available on July 28 between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM. This step is essential, as only locked choices will be considered during seat allotment.

The seat allotment process will be conducted on July 29 and 30, and the results will be published on July 31. Candidates who are allotted seats must report to their respective colleges or institutions between August 1 and August 6. The final step in the process — data verification by institutes — will take place on August 7 and 8.

The MCC has confirmed that the NEET UG 2025 counselling will be conducted in three main rounds, followed by a stray vacancy round to fill remaining seats.

This centralised counselling covers several categories of medical and dental seats across India, including:

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats for MBBS/BDS programs in all states (including Jammu & Kashmir, subject to seat contribution)

  • 100% MBBS/BDS seats at Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

  • 100% MBBS seats across all AIIMS institutes

  • 100% seats at JIPMER campuses in Puducherry and Karaikal

  • 100% MBBS/BDS seats at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

  • 85% state quota MBBS/BDS seats under Delhi University, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (VMMC, ABVIMS, and ESIC Dental)

  • 100% seats under Faculty of Dentistry at Jamia Millia Islamia, including 5% internal quota for Jamia students

  • 15% Insured Persons (IP) quota under ESIC

Before registering, all candidates are advised to thoroughly review the eligibility criteria, guidelines, and seat matrix available on the official MCC website.

With the counselling schedule now available, this is a critical time for candidates to stay informed, prepared, and punctual in following the steps. The path to securing an MBBS or BDS seat through NEET UG 2025 begins with careful planning and timely action.
